Shared files for CSS?

Answers

I have all of my css and content HTML templates stored in the Shared Files admin area.

Thanks, @Jonathan Sorrenti . When a instructor uses a page template in Content to build a course page in their Manage Files, is the shared files CSS still used, or is a local copy of the CSS placed in the specifc course files?
-
The HTML they save is saved in their mangae files but that page links back to the css in Shared Files. So it isn't duplicated.
Update that one css file updates all courses that link to it.

Yay! One last question: when your designers are working Dreamweaver or other IDE, do they need to be logged into D2L to see the pages render based on the externally linked style sheet?
-
Mmmm.. great question I've never tired to connect to it from outside d2l. You'd have to use a static url to get it to load probably. Then change it once you load it into d2l.

Thanks. That's what I figured. At least in Dreamweaver, etc., it is easy to change a link site-wide.

In some of my HTML templates I also will reference a non-existing css file in case an individual instructor ever decides they want to override the css with their own in their course.
