Now you have to go to the assignment main page, click the "select button" to the left of the assignments that need to be associated (assuming you've already created categories), and bulk edit. There you will find the option to associate assignment to a category. Am I missing something? Why is this now not an option within the assignment anymore. It's a hassle having to go somewhere else to do this.

Expand the Submission & Completion panel on the right side of the screen. You can assign a category just under the assignment type.

That is not an option in our instance. Is there something I need to switch on for our faculty?

You have to turn on the d2l.Tools.Activities.SetCategoriesOnEdit (OrgUnit) config variable.

I meant to thank you the other day @Bill Harrison! That worked! I am not sure why that was a config variable though. I would have thought it would be part of the default.
