In regards to the text being displayed, you should be able to adjust this in the language settings.

If you head to the Admin Tools area and select Language Management, click on the default language package at your organization.

There are four terms you'll be interested in which manage the above:

• defaultViewPopup:title (for the title of the window)
• defaultViewPopup:emptyResultsFromNRecentSemesters (general text, for semesters)
• defaultViewPopup:resultsFromNRecentCourses (general text, for courses)
• defaultViewPopup:promptUseFilters (lower text)

If you search for these within the language package you'll be able to edit the custom value field.
