Hi David! Thanks for the question. This new technology is driven by Salesforce.com. We went through a pretty rigorous choosing process before landing on this tech. I'd be happy to chat with you to share our process and what we've learned on our journey.
Keep me updated on your progress and hang in there...it's definitely worth the effort!

Hi David,
Yes, we are using the Salesforce Community Cloud to deliver this vs. the existing community technology which is Igloo.
We've got some "seamless experience" plans that you are going to be hearing about in the upcoming months and we are the leading edge of those changes... :-) To paint a picture, the problems we are hoping to move the needle on are: multiple sites to access your questions, your tickets, your products ideas, your site status, etc.... let alone that you have to leave your D2L instance.... :-) :-)
Besides the little things & big things planned, we are excited about the powerful search functionality, the capability to have a knowledge base and lots of open APIs so we can bring that seamless experience to life.

Leave it to Heather to add much better context and info :-)

Thanks Jeff. I appreciate the offer. We've had a community for our teachers for the last 5 years, but have outgrown our current solution (Ning). As we get further down the road I may take you up on your offer. Thanks.
