Beginning April 6th, the [BROKEN LINK]Instructional Design Best Practices Group is hosting an Escape Room in the Brightspace Community Learning Centre, and you’re invited to join in! The Escape Room will last for six months, ending September 30. With stories of underwater choirs, secret messages, and flights around the world- we hope you drop by for the learning and stay for the adventure!

The Details
Participate in the Brightspace Learning Center's first online Escape Room. Complete 10 challenges to escape and earn badges along the way to mark your progress.

What’s My Prize?
If you are successful in making it all the way to the end of the escape room, you will gain access to a survey where you can fill out your contact information to receive an invitation to a webinar. The webinar will only be available to those who complete the escape room. The webinar will walk you through how to create your own escape room in your courses. The webinar will be scheduled after the Escape Room closes to take place in the fall.
How Can I Participate?
Visit the Instructional Design Escape Room to get started when it opens on April 6th 2022. On the home page, you will find instructions on how to enter the escape room. There are 10 challenges in the escape room that you must complete sequentially in order to reach the end. It is estimated that it will take you 90 minutes to complete the escape room, however it does not need to be completed in one sitting.
While the escape room is designed to be completed asynchronously, there are three live sessions available where you can complete the escape room over Zoom with an instructional designer from D2L. One of the benefits of participating in the live sessions is that the facilitator can monitor your progress and provide help if you get stuck. The 60-minute live sessions will take place at the following times:
Who Can Participate?
If you build or manage Brightspace courses in your organization and have a Community account with an email linked to your organization, you have access to the Learning Centre and can participate in this scavenger hunt.
What if I Missed the Deadline?
We will be posting a video walkthrough of the solution to the escape room. However, the full webinar with a full explanation of how the escape room was created as well as additional ideas for how to create an escape room will only be available to those who complete the escape room.
