What is Wiggio?
Brightspace Wiggio enables group discussion and communication. Using Brightspace Wiggio, you can assign tasks to group members, poll members, share calendars and schedules, upload and manage group files, and communicate using live conference calls, chat rooms, texts, emails, and voice mail.
Why are we making this decision?
While there have been pockets of effective use of Wiggio, the product never hit mainstream adoption or usage with Brightspace users that we originally envisioned.
What is the Impact and Transition Plan for Active Clients?
We are discussing with users those use cases where Wiggio was making a difference and are working with clients to ensure a smooth a transition. Please reach out to your account team if you are using Wiggio and haven’t heard from us.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is Wiggio enabled in my environment? What is the best way to disable it?
Wiggio is integrated with Brightspace via LTI. Under “Admin Tools” access “External Learning Tools”. Examine your list of tools and providers for any entries related to Wiggio and disable.
- Can D2L provide me a list of users of who have accessed Wiggio?
Yes. We’ve already reached out to known Wiggio users but if you haven’t heard from us, please reach out to your support representative.
- Can I export my content from Wiggio?
Yes, follow the below instructions depending on which area of Wiggio you’d like to preserve.
Conversations
- Go to the Feed.
- To see conversations from all groups and non-group posts, select All Groups in the Groups pane. To see the conversations from a particular group, select it from the Groups pane.
- Scroll through the Feed to find any conversations you want to save. Highlight the contents of the thread and copy the selected text, then paste it into a text editor and save the file. It may be necessary to expand a conversation using Show more replies to see all of the replies.
Files and Folders
- Go to the Folder.
- To see files and folders from non-group posts, select All Groups in the Groups pane. To see the files and folders from a particular group, select it from the Groups pane.
- Choose the files and folders you'd like to export by checking the box next each item, then select Download.
Events
- Go to the Calendar.
- To see events from all groups and non-group posts, select All Groups in the Groups pane. To see the events from a particular group, select it from the Groups pane.
- Open the dropdown menu at the top right of the Calendar, then select Export Calendar. Copy the appropriate URL for the events you want to export, then paste and visit this URL in your web browser to download the events as a .ics file. You can then follow ICS/iCal import instructions for the calendar application of your choice.
Links
- Go to the Feed.
- To see links from all groups and non-group posts, select All Groups in the Groups pane. To see the links from a particular group, select it from the Groups pane.
- From the Content Type Filter menu at the top of the Feed, select Files and Links. Scroll through the feed to find any links you want to save. Copy the link address/URL, then paste it into a text editor and save the file, or create a bookmark in your web browser.
To-Do Lists
- Go to the Feed.
- To see to-do lists from all groups and non-group posts, select All Groups in the Groups pane. To see the to-do lists from a particular group, select it from the Groups pane.
- From the Content Type Filter menu at the top of the Feed, select To-do Lists. Scroll through the feed to find any to-do lists you want to save. For each to-do list, select View or maintain. Highlight and copy the contents of the to-do list, then paste it into a text editor and save the file.
Polls
- Go to the Feed.
- To see polls from all groups and non-group posts, select All Groups in the Groups pane. To see the polls from a particular group, select it from the Groups pane.
- From the Content Type Filter menu at the top of the Feed, select Polls. Scroll through the feed to find any polls you want to save. For each poll, select Show results. Highlight and copy the contents of the poll, then paste it into a text editor and save the file.
Group Name and Description
- Go to the Feed.
- Select a group from the Groups pane.
- The full group name and description will appear at the top of the Feed. Highlight and copy the desired text into a text editor and save the file. It may be necessary to select …More to see the entire group description.
Group Members
- Select a group from the Groups pane.
- Open the More menu that appears below the Members list, then select Manage Group Members.
- Highlight and copy the list of Members, then paste it into a text editor or spreadsheet and save the file.
Contacts
- Go to the Feed.
- Scroll through the Contacts pane on the right side to find any contacts you want to save. For each contact, move your cursor over the name of the contact to see the contact details card. Highlight and copy the contact's information, then paste it into a text editor and save the file.
