How do I bulk enroll students into sections?

Options
I'm trying to upload a csv file of students into sections for a course, but whenever I try, I get the error message, "The specified username is not valid" for all usernames. I literally exported the list of usernames from the data hub, so I don't know what other steps I should take. Note: I'm trying to do this via the Classlist > Add Participants > Import Import Users From File option. Here's an example of the text/formatting I'm trying to use. Top row is my list of required/optional fields as per the sampler file. I also tried changing John Doe's username to lowercase, but that didn't work either. If I can do this from the Bulk Users command, let me know. When I check the required fields for Bulk User Enrollment, it does not include a Section option. (ENROLL, *Username, *Role Name, *Org Unit Code)

    Hello @Maureen Barrow,

    Thanks for your question.

It looks like the layout of your file may need to be adjusted slightly, which could be why the enrollments are rejected. Try using these column titles:

Org Defined ID, First Name, Last Name, Email, Section (if the course has sections, otherwise, omit), Role, Change Password (True/False)

Using the data hub report you pulled, you should be able to get the Org Defined ID's.

This method varies slightly compared to the Bulk User Management process, which requires the username vs the org ID.

I hope this helps! For reference, there's a bit more information you can find here in our documentation: https://documentation.brightspace.com/EN/le/classlist/instructor/enroll_users_from_txt_or_csv_file.htm
