Why aren't my students auto-enrolling in sections?

I set up a course to have sections, but I just noticed that new students aren't being enrolled in sections. (Yesterday there were 11 students not enrolled in a section, and today there are 13, and I recognize some of the names from yesterday's list.) As you can see, my section properties are set up to auto-enroll new students.

It turns out that because students are enrolling into the course via the Discover tool, auto-enroll in sections is not supported.

 

According to the https://documentation.brightspace.com/EN/le/discover/admin/discover_set_up.htm?Highlight=self%20enrollment%20in%20section%20

Discover does not support the following:

• Pre-requisite, anti-requisite, or co-requisite course offerings
• Seat limits, wait lists, or enrollment windows
• Self-enrollment approval
• Multiple catalogs of courses
• Sections self-enrollment
• Role selection during self-enrollment
• SIS integration, API, or enabling self-enrollment in bulk
