Is there an API call for the new preferred name feature?

Hoping to pass the preferred name from our SIS over to Brightspace.

These new user data points are not yet included in our API user endpoints: http://docs.valence.desire2learn.com/res/user.html. I hope to see them come to a future release of Brightspace.

Thanks @Jordan Snider! We would love to see this included. In the meantime, we will determine a process internally to manually process a preferred name in Brightspace.

It has been a while since this thread but I am happy to report that API Support for Preferred Names has now been added. See the 10.8.10 release notes here:
