Are OpenSesame Certificate sync with Brightspace award systems?

Options
OpenSesame awarded a certificate to Learner A but in Brightspace data hub is not showing/saving that information on the award. Is there a way to sync Brightspace awards and OpenSesame certificate?

    Hey @Oscar Chang ,

Jordan from the partners team here, hoping I can help shed some light on what you are seeing. You see, the OpenSesame integration offers awards and certificates that are separate from the awards tool you see in Brightspace today. In order to have the award services syncronize their awards, OpenSesame would need to leverage our awards APIs. They would need to create/award/modify awards in out platform to mimic their own awards setup.

As far as I know, OpenSesame is a purely LTI integration and does not leverage our APIs to accomplish what I have described. I do thinks a great idea however! I would recommend you connect with this 3rd party vendor and make some suggestions around how you would like to see their integration behave. As integrations are owned and developed by the company that produces them, OpenSesame will need to be the ones to make these changes to their app. Brightspace simply facilitates the place of the platform to plug into.

To explain a little further, the reason the OpenSesame award does not appear in your data hub reports is because the award object (from OpenSesame) is not a D2L object. Its not an award in our database, and we don't have visibility into the OpenSesame system. The awards from the data hub report would only reflect awards created in our native awards tool. If openSesame pushed awards to our system via our APIs, then they would appear in your reports.

Thank you very much for your response. I understand and will discuss with OpenSesame. Have a great day.
