Hi,
There are a number of options available, here are a few:
The Terms and Conditions Tool (https://documentation.brightspace.com/EN/le/terms/admin/terms_conditions_intro.htm?Highlight=terms%20and%20conditions) could be used for this.
This could also be achieved through a Checklist or Survey and use a release condition on the widget to only show if they have not completed it or not read the specific content.
If you are experienced in API's, then there are several options here. Huddersfield University used a custom widget for updating notifications which shows the possibilities how your requirement could also be achieved. Thanks,

Greg,
I am curious which direction you went with your endeavor. We are trying to use the Terms and Conditions Tool and have enabled it as per the TAC admin guide. It will not display for any of the roles we have enabled permissions. I have filed a support ticket but I am missing something here. I am starting to think it is related to the language or locale set on the individual account not matching the options in the TAC.
Just curious if you have enabled Terms and Conditions and if it was working or if you went a different direction.
I appreciate any information you can provide!
Thanks!
Michael

Hi Robin,
I am just getting around to this and looking at the Terms and Conditions Tool. I am looking in both our test site and main site and cannot find Terms and Conditions under Admin tools. Am I missing something? I made sure it was turned on.
Best,

Michael...sorry for the delayed response! I am exploring the Terms and Conditions tool today, and like you, I can't find it! It is turned on, however, not showing up in Admin Tools.
Did you ever get yours resolved?
Best,

Greg,
No worries my friend! In our case we are using a custom configuration, and so D2L support had to enable the tool for us! You may want to check the following guide below, and if you are still not seeing the terms displayed, you might need to reach out to support and ask them to turn the tool on. You can reference support case - 01224947 and Ben Baker was the Support Analyst who recognized we were using a custom config.
- Swicth is on under Organization Tools.
- Permissions are set for groups that need to review and/or manage tool
- Terms and Conditions message has been created
- Expiry date has been set
- Redirect URL has been set - If not once they click decline they are taken back to the login page.
As we are using ours for a "Health related commitment from students" we changed the I have read the above terms and conditions checbox, to reflect I have read the above student wellbeing commitment".
The language terms can be changed for the Accept and Decline button as well.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if I can be of further assistance!
Thanks!

Hey Michael,
Thanks for the email. Just submitted a case to have this tool active. I read the T&C Tool Admin guide, however, I can't follow the steps because the tool isn't there. Seems like you all are doing what we want to also do. How does that show when someone logs into Brightspace? Is it a pop-up or some sort of page that displays?

I missed some of your steps Michael! The key was going into the Roles and Permissions >selecting Admin>search for Custom Terms and Conditions Tool>check the box to see for whole organization! Now it shows up.
Best,

It is a simple html5 page that displays and we have tested this extensively on mobile devices, (IOS/ANDROID), and this works without any issues!
The client is required to place a check in a box, and then click Accept or Decline.

Hey Michael...sorry to keep bugging you...but wondering if you were able to insert custom content within the Box /HTML Editor other than simple text? I am in our Test site and it won't allow me to add anything except for text!
-
Greg, no bother! I was a little disappointed with the ability within the Terms and Conditions custom content, and the HTML Editor appears to struggle with certain options both in test and prod. You could always take advantage of the raw HTML if you want to insert an image or special items. We were more concerned with the functionality on mobile devices, and so we decided not to use any images or other items that might increase load times.
I hope you are able to get this worked out!
Thanks!

Hey Michael,
Do you recall where you were able to change the language for the buttons within the Terms and Conditions Tool? I don't see anything with the tool area to do this.
Best,
