Originally published March 14, 2019You have a great idea for our Product Idea Exchange, now how can you ensure that submission is as effective as possible? Here are some tips: Being UniqueBeing ConciseProviding Use CasesPartnering With Us Being Unique Be sure to search the Product Idea Exchange for similar ideas prior to submitting your idea. Adding your support and use case behind a similar, existing idea will create more impact. Being Concise Ideas that are broad in nature (I.e ‘make sure I can print everything’) are difficult to track, scope, and release. Ensuring your idea is concise, such as: ‘As an instructor/facilitator, I need the ability to print a quiz for offline quiz taking by students that opt to take quizzes offline’ gives a higher likelihood that the Community can refine and support your idea, and that D2L can engage and deliver on your idea. Providing Use Cases Providing the who, what, when, where, and why for your idea is critical to ensuring we deliver on a feature that you need. Adding and commenting on other ideas with your use cases helps us get a well- rounded picture of a feature and reduces the likelihood of a feature being made for too narrow a use case. Partnering with us The D2L platform is a big product and our aim is to improve the tools you love and deliver innovations and experiences that will delight you. However, our developers keep refusing to work through the night for donuts and coffee. This means that we need to prioritize the things we work on as best we can. Hearing from the Community is an important factor in that prioritization. Be patient, be positive, and work with us to bring the best possible product to market.
