Instructors - All about Assignments

Select the issue:

Students are unable to see your Assignment
How to grade submissions and publish all grades and feedback after you are done with ALL the grading
Students are unable to see posted scores/feedback

Students are unable to see your Assignment

Please follow these steps to ensure that your students can see and submit to the Assignment:

Go to Content
Locate the assignment
Ensure the assignment is not "Draft"

To fix:

A. Click on the word "Draft"
B. Select "Published"

4. Make sure today's date is after the Start date and before the End date

To fix:

A. Click a date
B. Edit as needed
C. Click the Update button

5. Make sure there isn't a Release Condition preventing the student from seeing the assignment

A. Click the Release Condition
B. Edit or remove the condition
C. Click the Update button

How to grade multiple submissions at once

To grade multiple assignments:

Go to Assessments > Assignments
Click on the title of the assignment
Click the first submission
Enter your scoring and feedback
Click the Save Draft button
Click the Next Student button (at the top right)
Continue grading all the submissions (clicking Save Draft on each)
After the last submission, click the Back to Submissions button (above the Next Student button)

To publish the grades and feedback all at once:
1. Check the box in front of each student whose grade and feedback you want to publish
2. Click the Publish Feedback ink above the list of student submissions

Otherwise your changes will still be saved, and will be available for publishing when you are ready.

Students are unable to see the score/feedback posted

Students can only see the scores and feedback that you have published:

Go to Assessments > Assignments
Make sure the assignment is tied to a grade item
1. Click the arrow to the right of the assignment
2. Choose Edit Assignment
3. Scroll about halfway down the page
4. Under Evaluation and Feedback, ensure the Score Out Of and Grade Item are populated
5. Click the Save and Close button
Click the title of the assignment
Scroll down
Check the box in front of each student whose grade and feedback you want to publish
Click the Publish Feedback link above the list of student submissions
