How to submit to an Assignment

Select Course Tools > Assignments/Dropbox (the name may vary based on your institution).

Select the Assignment you wish to submit.

- Select Add a File/Record Audio/Record Video.

- Select Upload to select the file you wish to submit.
- Select Add.
- Select Submit.

How to delete an Assignment submission
Once a file has been submitted successfully to the Assignment, it cannot be deleted. However, there are options available depending on the Assignment Properties.
- Confirm the Assignment Properties with your instructor. There are 3 possible settings:
- If the Assignment allows for multiple submissions:
- Submit a new file.
- Contact the course instructor to inform them of the re-submission.
- If the Assignment does not allow for more than one submission:
- Contact the course instructor to inform them you would like to resubmit the file.

An error message appears when accessing an Assignment
This error may occur if you do not have access to the Assignment you are trying to access.
If this error message occurs, contact the course instructor. They must correct the link so that it directs you to the correct Assignment.

How to confirm that an Assignment submission was successful
There are 3 ways to can confirm that your submission was successful.
- Submission Receipt:

Every submission sends an email to your account confirm the file was submitted.

- Depending on your institution, this email may be sent to your school email or your Brightspace email.
- View History:

The Assignments tool allows you to review all your submissions by selecting View History.

Choose a desired Assignment from the dropdown menu > select Apply.

- Completion Status:
-
The Completion Status column shows how many submissions have been made to each Assignment.

- Select the number to view the submissions to that Assignment.

Your file does not finish uploading to the Assignment
This is often the result of attempting to upload a file that is too large.
Try the following to resolve the issue:
- If you are using Wi-Fi, switch to a wired internet connection.
- Switch an Internet connection with faster upload speed.
- Break your document into multiple smaller files, then upload each individually.
- NOTE: We recommend first confirming whether your instructor has allowed multiple submissions to the Assignment.
- Compress the file.

Error message appears when uploading a file
This issue can occur if there is an Illegal Character in the name of the Document that is uploading: (Ex. "@:#$%^>).
To resolve this issue:
- Open the document on your computer.
- Select Save As.
- Rename your document with only letters and/or numbers in the name.
- Ex. Rename a document from "War&Peace".docx to WarAndPeace.docx.
- Try uploading the renamed document.
