How to reset a student's quiz attempt
If a student is reporting an issue with their quiz, and you would like to reset their attempt:
- Locate the Quiz in the Quizzes section.
- Select the dropdown to the right of its name, and select Grade:
- Under the search options, change the Restrict to field to Users with attempts in progress:
- If the search options are not visible, select Show Search Options:
- Click
Search. - Locate the students attempt, and check the box to the left of the attempt you wish to reset.
- Click Reset:
- Press Save and Close. The student no longer registers as having an attempt in progress.

Quiz scores do not transfer to your gradebook
If your Quiz grades are not visible to students and/or are not transferring to your gradebook:
- Locate and click on the Quiz in the Quizzes section.
- Select the Assessment Tab:
- Under Grade Item, make sure that you have associated the relevant grade item:
- If you would like your quiz to auto-grade:
- Check the box under Automatic Grade
- Check the box under Auto Export to Grades
- Press Save and Close.
- Otherwise:
- Click the dropdown to the right of the Quiz's name, and select Grade
- Click on the student attempts to review the answers, to modify grades, and to leave feedback
- Once you have completed your changes, click Save and Close, and either:
- Select Publish Feedback to publish that attempt
- Press Save and Close or Save to save your changes.

How to update student attempts after correcting a question in your quiz
Please follow these steps to update student attempts if you have modified a question:
- Locate the Quiz in the Quizzes section
- Select the dropdown to the right of its name, and select Grade
- Click on the Questions Tab:
- Select Update All Attempts:
- Click on the question you wish to update.
- Under Grading Type, select how you wish to update the questions:
- Give all Attempts __ points
- Gives all students the specified number of points
- Give to attempts with Answer ______ __ points
- Only gives points to students who chose the specified answer
- Click Save.
