How to submit to a Dropbox
To submit to an Assignment / Dropbox:

Within your course, select Assignments/Dropbox (the name may vary based on your institution).

Select the folder to which you wish to submit.

- Click Add a File, and select Upload to locate the file you wish to add.

- Click Add.
- Submit your files once ready.

How to delete a Dropbox submission
Once a file has been submitted successfully to the Dropbox Folder, you cannot delete it.
For your next steps:
- Confirm the dropbox settings with your instructor. There are 3 possible settings they can set:
- The folder allows for an unlimited number of submissions.
- The folder only keeps the most recent submission, and removes the others.
- The folder only allows a single submission.
- If the folder allows for multiple submissions:
- Submit the newer file.
- Contact your instructor and let them know of your resubmission.
- If the folder does not allow for more than one submission:
- Contact your instructor and inform them you would like to resubmit the file.

An error message appears when accessing a Dropbox folder
This error may occur if you do not have access to the linked Dropbox folder.
If you encounter an error message, contact your instructor to inform them. They must correct the link so that it directs you to the correct Dropbox.

How to confirm that a Dropbox submission was successful
There are 3 ways you can confirm that your submission was successful.
- Submission Receipt:

Every submission sends an email to your account confirm the file was submitted.

- Depending on your school, this may be sent to either your school email or your Brightspace email.
- View History:
-
The Dropbox tool allows you to review all your submissions by clicking View History.

Choose a folder from the Dropdown, and click Apply.

- Submissions:
-
The Submissions column shows how many submissions you've made to each folder.

- Clicking on the number will show your submissions to that folder.

Your file does not finish uploading to the Dropbox
This is often the result of attempting to upload a file that is too large.
Try the following to resolve the issue:
- If you are using Wi-Fi, switch to a wired internet connection.
- Switch an Internet connection with a faster upload speed.
- Break your document into multiple smaller files, and upload each individually.
- NOTE: We recommend first confirming whether your instructor has allowed you to make multiple submissions to the dropbox.
- Compress the file

Error message appears when uploading a file
This issue can occur if there is an Illegal Character in the name of the Document that you are trying to upload: (Ex. "@:#$%^>).
To resolve this issue:
- Open the document on your computer.
- Click Save As.
- Rename your document so that it's name contains only letters and/or numbers.
- Ex. Rename a document from "War&Peace".docx to WarAndPeace.dox.
- Try uploading your document again.
