It is possible that students may accidentally change their Brightspace quiz answers—without realizing this—if students are navigating using the directional arrows on their keyboards instead of using a mouse. This is not a "Brightspace problem." Rather this behavior results from the way computers & tablets are configured to enhance accessibility.
If a question is selected, and a directional arrow is pressed, then the next possible answer will be selected. If a question is un-selected, and a directional arrow is pressed, this will cause the page to scroll. Students may not notice this behavior, so we recommend caution when using keyboard arrows to navigate within Brightspace assessments.
Brightspace quiz logs can show whether students successfully saved all their answers, and whether a quiz was submitted successfully. However, these logs cannot determine whether any student's intended answers were changed by the arrow keys, since this behavior cannot be tracked and recorded.
